After sold-out shows and the award-winning production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona last April, HKSTG is back with yet another of the Bard’s fun-filled comedies- Love's Labour's Lost!
Never heard of the play? Well, it's pretty straightfoward. The King of Navarre and his three Lords swear to study and forsake women for 3 years - until that is, the Princess of France and her ladies come to his court the very next scene. Meanwhile, Armado and his page Moth have travelled from Spain to Navarre's court and become acquaintances of Constable Dull, Costard the swain and the beauteuous Jaqueneta. They soon join hands with notable scholars Holofernes and Lady Natalia and stage a historical play known as the Nine Worthies. With so many aspiring individuals gathered in and around Navarre, a Shakespearean plot is inevitable!
Recontextualised to the Swinging 1960s, HKSTG's LLL features two live bands, singing, swing dancing alongside Thespian acting. Come and enjoy a night of musical and nostalgic Shakespearean rhymes!
